Electrohydraulic shock wave devices rely on vaporizing water in the spark gap of an electrode and focusing that energy with a metal reflector. That process is inherently inefficient, noisy, hard to control, and leads to rapid electrode erosion. Our piezoelectric system is battery operated and highly efficient. The most common side effects are redness and soreness at the treatment site, which usually quickly dissipates. Focused ESWT is known to be safe and effective with a very low incidence of side effects. However, there are instances where ESWT should NOT be used

Contraindications for Focused ESWT:

• Malignant tumor in the treatment area (not as an underlying disease)

•  Fetus in the treatment area

• Epiphyseal plate in the treatment area

• Brain or Spine in the treatment area

• Heart and lung tissue in the treatment area

• Eyes in the treatment area

• Severe coagulopathy or use of blood thinner medication
